چکیده

During summer, melt ponds have a significant influence on Arctic sea-ice albedo. The melt pond fraction (MPF) also has the ability to forecast the Arctic sea-ice in a certain period. It is important to retrieve accurate melt pond fraction (MPF) from satellite data for Arctic research. This paper proposes a satellite MPF retrieval model based on the multi-layer neural network, named MPF-NN. Our model uses multi-spectral satellite data as model input and MPF information from multi-site and multiperiod visible imagery as prior knowledge for modeling. It can effectively model melt ponds evolution of different regions and periods over the Arctic. Evaluation results show that the MPF retrieved from MODIS data using the proposed model has an RMSE of 3.91% and a correlation coefficient of 0.73. The seasonal distribution of MPF is also consistent with previous results.

Object-Oriented Method for Automatic Extraction of Road from High Resolution Satellite Images

As the information carried in a high spatial resolution image is not represented by single pixels but by meaningful image objects, which include the association of multiple pixels and their mutual relations, the object based method has become one of the most commonly used strategies for the processing of high resolution imagery. This processing comprises two fundamental and critical steps towar...

Automatic Vehicles Detection from High Resolution Satellite Imagery Using Morphological Neural Networks

This paper presents a morphological neural network approach to extract vehicle targets from high resolution panchromatic satellite imagery. In the approach, the morphological shared-weight neural network (MSNN) is used to classify image pixels on roads into vehicle targets and non-vehicle targets, and a morphology based preprocessing algorithm is developed to identify candidate vehicle pixels. ...

Road Segmentation on Remotely-Sensed Images Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks with Landscape Metrics and Conditional Random Fields

Object segmentation on remotely-sensed images: aerial (or very high resolution, VHS) images and satellite (or high resolution, HR) images, has been applied to many application domains, especially road extraction in which the segmented objects are served as a mandatory layer in geospatial databases. Several attempts in applying deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) to extract roads from remot...
